July 17th, 2011 - Trail Maintenance

Happy Ending to a Rough Start
Our collaboration with the Freeriders proved fruitful. After forwarding them a few photos of other inspiring rock-armored trails, we meet a few weeks prior to the session and worked out a nice fast-flowing line that could be built to sustainable standards.

The Freeriders (who prefer a bit of anonymity) built a solid rock-armored bridge over gully that the highly-eroded trail had washed out. They built up a clearly-defined path to do an "up and over" across the Big Rock as well. Together, we benched out a nice smooth-curved fast-flowing line and moved deadfall to define the lines. Please respect this reroute. Long before Walmart had Chinese full-suspension spin offs and mountain biking became a household word, there were a few adventurous Riders in the Valley, exploring, armoring and blazing challenging yet fun-to-ride trails in the park. For over 3 decades they have been the silent front line that has given this park it's soul. This is their trail—please respect it. See Link Below for Berm Info...
