-- Walk Through Park with Land Manager --

Our walk thru with the Land Manager (LM) in March was a success. We visited quite a few eroded spots on the main trails and discussed enhancements and changes. It was important from the "get go" to communicate a quality and concise fix for each problem area, and build a solid relationship of trust with the DEEP. Overall, he was very receptive to our ideas.

Careful planning and thought went into figuring out how to best minimize the environmental impact to the park and rebuild the trail system for sustainability (and great trail flow). Assessment rides, GPS tracking and building maps all were part of the process.

Starting from the south end, we walked for two hours and talked about bridges, showing prospective trail reroutes, new trails, and enhancements along the way. Jim (LM) clearly saw the need for the work we proposed and endorsed our intiatives.

The major changes that we proposed require a more formal submission approval process through the state and will take a couple of months but minor fixes, reblazing and small reroutes we'll be able to accomplish on our own.
