TTC Masthead

-- Reblazing the Trails in the Park --

Working in conjunction with FCNEMBA and the CT DEEP, the TTC's main intent is to reorganize the Pequonnock River Valley's trail system into a simple, coherent easy-to-understand network.

Basically this consists of four main north-south thoroughfares (red, yellow, white and blue)* and possibly two central area loops: orange and purple.

There are an innumerable amount of side trails in the park that--for better or worse--seem to change frequently. Cataloguing and/or blazing all these trails is beyond our scope.

Please note:
Currently old markings (most notably Yellow blazes) can found haphazardly throughout the park. Over time these will be eradicated or reblazed as indicated on the map.

* We hope to contour these main thoroughfare trails into fast, flowing fall-line-free trails. The level of difficulty will be maintained as well:

  • the white trail stays the easiest;
  • the red trail will have the most technical challenges;
  • the yellow trail will be moderately challenging and have frequent connections to the red trail for riders to alternate easily;
  • the blue will continuue to be a mixed bag of challenges - whatever the natural terrain of river bank provides.
