November 20th - "Meeting Of The Spirits"

Our Meeting Of The Spirits "Pow Wow" proved fruitful. The DEEP Land Manager and a ranger from the Town of Trumbull joined us for a lively discussion in the parking lot about our activities and responsible park use. A healthy dialog among bikers present built a greater understanding and empathy for each other. All share an equal passon for the park.

What's Changed?
Any threats from the Town to curtail biking (see letter) were transformed into full-fledged support for our activities after particpating in the talk and subsequently walking thru the White Trail to the Serengeti.

The TTC agreed to redirect our focus on the lower White and Blue Trails. Our work on the Red Trail lacked flow and/or had not gathered sufficient input from the free riding community. We want to actively work with the long-time freeriders to make the Red Trail descents more sustainable and create two well-thought-out downhill runs, using natural features, that could rival Diablo and Highland Mountain Bike Park (NH). Sometime next year we will revisit and rebuild accordingly. (These are big projects and input and participation from the greater community is essential...) Further details here >
