Projects

To ensure all types of park goers* continue to enjoy the incredible varied landscape of the park**, scheduled trail work is critical. Monitoring and maintaining erosion caused by heavy usage in the park and upgrading poorly designed trails are what our volunteer efforts focus on.

Next Major Trail Projects for 2012

We wll be focusing on:

  • Getting boardwalks / bridges built in the Serengeti
  • Getting the DEEP to build a new kiosk at the South End
  • Building a new DEEP-approved trail

July 2011 Joint Session with Freeriders Red Trail descent to rocky stream rebuilt for fast flow AND sustainability.
January 2011 Trumbull Parks Commission The Trumbull Trails Coalition (TTC) were invited to Trumbull Parks Commission Meeting on Jan 10th, 2011 at Trumbull Town Hall.
December 2010
State/Town Crews are now working in the park and
will be assisting us as needed. (We have their blessing)
November 2010 Meeting Of The Spirits "Pow Wow" With the DEP Land Manager and a ranger from the Town of Trumbull present, a lively discussion among concerned bikers occurred.
2010 PROJECT LOGS TAKEN OFFLINE Site reorganized—Project Logs now accessible by location (see Concerns page)
Ongoing Reblazing Trails Projected plans for red and yellow trails, etc.
March 2010 Land Manager Walk-Thru Walked through the park with the Land Manager to get his understanding and blessing on various updates planned for the trails.
